JULY 10 – VILLA IL MELETO, AGLIÈ
A donkey and a storyteller meet during this site-specific performance designed for the spectacular Villa Il Meleto di Agliè, the summer residence of Guido Gozzano, one of the most beloved poets of the Italian Novecento. Within the literary production of this Turin writer, fairy tales are undoubtedly the least known and popular: among his 18 published poems, only three of them were selected: Il ballo degli gnomi, Il mugnaio e il suo signore and I tre talismani. They are the poems that most verge on the traditional tales and on the legends that for many years the donkey and Claudio Zanotto Contino, a proven and unconventional artistic couple of the theatre scene, have told during long tours through stables and atypical spaces. The centenary of the death of Gozzano is the perfect opportunity to revive their voices, accompanied by the sounds of a multi-instrumentalist musician.
